The Alcoves – Now

alcoves1

“Now” just sounds like an edgier pop recurrent you could have heard on alternative radio over the past 15 years yet it would still feel right at home after a new track by The Vaccines. With an LP in the works the Swedish 5 piece is something on the radar.

Best Coast & Johnny Marr – In Your Sleep

bestcoast

Ray Ban threw some dolla bills at the legendary Johnny Marr and Best Coast girl Betheny Cosentino and the result is this “In Your Sleep” song. Marr also spread that sunglasses cash to Tom Vek, Au Revoir Simone and others for the project.

Phantogram – Nightlife

phantogram

So Phantogram’s return single of their sophomore LP Nightlife “Don’t Move” fucking ripped. Now the more quiet (but no less awesome) title track surfaces. We couldn’t be more psyched for this record!

Diggy – Do It Like You (Feat. Jeremih)

diggy

If this shit gets the right amount radio spins it’s a Top 5 hit on Billboard. I usually listen to Z Hip Hop Cleveland during the day while I’m working, “Do It Like You” should do nicely between “Make Me Proud”, “She Will” & “I Gotta Chick”. Mr. Birthday Sex, Jeremih, chips in on vocal duties.

St. Lucia – We Got It Wrong

stlucia

The artist St. Lucia was born in South Africa, lived in the UK, and is now located in Brooklyn. His Temper Trap-esque sounding track for “We Got It Wrong” caught us out straight away. Uptempo, infectious, layered with hooks, “We Got It Wrong” is an excellent piece of synth pop. Get familiar.

Coldplay – Princess of China (Feat. Rihanna)

coldplay2

Finally, finally, finally, been waiting on C-Play to try something a bit more electro, dance, r&b, anything, anything to change-up that formula for vanilla bean they’ve been using for 10+ years, “Princess of China”, which features Rihanna(!) is hopefully the first step in a direction, any direction, that is even remotely different or interesting.
