Midnight Pool Party – Vulnerable

New from Sydney, AU is “Vulnerable” from venerable duo Midnight Pool Party. Musically reminding us (at least construction-wise, and maybe not the exact intent) of late 90’s UK R&B-leaning pop like Daniel Bedingfield or Craig David, “Vulnerable” is in that way supremely sleek and effortlessly magnetic. Stream “Vulnerable” below.

Akiine – Destiny (BAILE Remix)

akiine

With a continuous loop of his own deeply permeating moody atmospheric vocals, a colorful array of phenomenal simmering low-touch beats and some outstanding rhythmic percussion, NY-based German BAILE creates considerable depth and dimension on his remix of 2015 Janet Jackson-vibe r&b vocals-led wonder “Destiny” (from London-based songstress-producer Akiine). We really like how BAILE keeps the original’s percussion-filled Brit-garage feel and leaves the track’s lead vocal line basically intact while changing up the vibe to something vastly different and more electro oriented. A slow-fast methodical rhythm-centric beats-scape with a soulful techno undercurrent, “Destiny” has a highly picturesque element to it that makes it a great candidate for a movie soundtrack. A must listen. Reviewed by Erin Shay.

Wax Witches – Habit

waxwitches

Get into the vigorously delivered, hazy lo-fi punk-edge garage rock vibes of Brooklyn-based artist Wax Witches, who we covered here in regards to his 2014 Bootleg Bar performance in LA. We recommend Wax Witches’ latest track “Habit” for two minutes of intense screechy guitar-riff-dominated bliss. The riotous new tune is off his “Memory Painting” EP out via Burger Records on March 18th. Reviewed by Erin Shay.

SNAKEHIPS – All My Friends (Feat. Tinashe & Chance the Rapper)

snakehips2

Producer duo Snakehips is accompanied by Chance the Rapper and Tinashe for the first single off of what it appears to be a new Snakehips project. Despite Chance’s busy tour schedule, Snakehips got him to drop a set of his always-solid bars and Tinashe’s hypnotic alto vocals are variably featured throughout the whole song adding into the track its feel good vibe. Yuck – Hold Me Closer

yuck

Get familiar with the stupendously catchy guitar-spun attitude of UK band Yuck on their scratchy-vocaled bright-beamed shoegaze gem “Hold Me Closer” which is the first track to release off the group’s third album, set for a 2016 release. With its awesome instrumentals and inviting hook we think “Hold Me Closer” outshines the group’s previous works (featured on B3) for possessing a more approachable more closely-refined style that could grant Yuck the momentum they need to break the ice of mass appeal. We love Yuck! If you are lucky enough to catch the foursome on their short and sweet upcoming Eastern US tour take photos and send them in to B3. Stay tuned as the group begins to reveal more tracks from their new EP. Reviewed By Erin Shay.

Premiere: Green Buzzard – Zoo Fly

Lead Press Image

Australian buzz act Green Buzzard will release their debut “Zoo Fly” single through Mermaid Avenue/Mom + Pop in the US on June 16 (on I OH YOU elsewhere). On “Zoo Fly”, the young Aussies wind through a varying sphere of guitar band influence from Oasis to the Stone Roses expertly hashing it down to a unique and modern and very catchy bit of rock songwriting. The track new video, which we are very pleased to premiere, explores further the 90’s aesthetic including a circle of Gallagher-esque poses and body contortions that would make “Our Kid” feel pretty “supersonic”. Stream the B3 Premiere of the video for “Zoo Fly” from Green Buzzard.

Allison Taylor – Bells (Prod. Felix Snow)

allisontaylor

We are loving the new Felix Snow-produced track from L.A.-based singer Allison Taylor as featured on the (!)Entourage soundtrack. Snow’s melodic R&B-friendly production choices are a great foil for Ms. Taylor’s cool alto on “Bells”. A+.
